Fontana, San Bernardino County
A two-mile racing oval opened in Fontana in 1997 on land where the Kaiser steel mill once stood. Known first as California Speedway and later as Auto Club Speedway, it hosted NASCAR and IndyCar races for a quarter century. The last race on the big oval was run in 2023, ahead of plans to rebuild the site.
